VISITORS AND RECEPTION
ALL VISITORS TO THE SCHOOL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PARENTS AND GOVERNORS WILL BE ASKED TO PROVIDE IDENTIFICATION WITH A PHOTOGRAPH IN ORDER TO SIGN IN AND GAIN ENTRY TO THE SCHOOL.

The safety and security of our staff, our students and visitors is extremely important to us. For this reason we ask all visitors to the site, whoever they are, and whatever the purpose of their visit, to report to the reception as they enter the site. Visitors sign in and will then be issued with a lapel badge enabling staff and students to easily identify that visitors are here legitimately.
The reception area is also the first port of call for general telephone enquiries. Visitors with disabilities affecting mobility may be advised by reception staff where to park.

Northfield meets the healthy schools standards and complies with the smoke free legislation and therefore you may not smoke whilst on site.

ABUSE OF STAFF
Northfield School staff are here to help you and they have a right to expect that their school is a safe place in which to work.  No member of staff should be required or feel obliged to deal with any person(s) either face to face, over the telephone or in correspondence, who is exhibiting threatening, abusive or violent behaviour. Any form of abuse, verbal or physical will not be tolerated. Prompt and appropriate action will be taken if staff are subjected to abuse, threats or violence by any visitors to the school site or on school premises.

Such action will include:
  • Terminating abusive phone calls
  • Asking abusive or threatening visitors to leave the site
  • Issuing a banning order from school premises
  • Informing the police
We are all here to work together and the staff will treat visitors with respect and they expect the same in return.
